Covenant Community History

Originally named the Mecca of the East by the Covenant Young People’s Confederation in 1923, the site of the new Hillcrest senior living neighborhood is the crowning glory of Covenant Village of Cromwell’s 42-acre campus. The setting offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and river valleys.

Serving seniors as a Christian continuing care retirement community since 1964, Covenant Village of Cromwell is one of 15 retirement communities that are owned and administered by the Evangelical Covenant Church. Our roots date to 1886, when the church founded its first outreach in Chicago. Operating as a ministry, we celebrate God’s gift of life in a faith-based community. We work to glorify God by serving others, including residents, coworkers, family members and guests.
